The Warthog & The Zebra

When mother earth first bought animals forward they where naked and with out skin or fur. As the earth rotated trough the seasons she took the time to cover them region by region. As time passed it was the turn of the plain animals to be covered. She called them all to a cave to commence theĀ tedious task.

After along day of hard sewing and stitching she thought that all was done when it came to her knowledge that Zebra and Wharthog is still playing uncovered on the grass plains. She thundered and they came running full of Ā apology and all sorts of excuses. With all the animals that needed covering mother nature did not plan for this unexpected turn of events.

She quickly looked around the cave and found a piece of covering about the size of Warthog, but it was a tight fit. She had to pull and stretch and squeeze to fit Warthog into the tight fit, but it was a fit nevertheless. Today if Warthog runs with his eyes close through the long plains grass it’s tail lifts up from the pull on the tight skin. When they stop and open their eyes the skin relaxes and the tail droops again.

Zebra on the other hand was covered with pieces that was stitch together and stretch over its body. Running out of the cave a sudden itch came over Zebra and he jumped and rolled in a sand pit when some of the stitching burst loose and Zebra was covered in stripes. Up to date when the itch of the stripes comes over Zebra he falls on the ground and roll and twist to scratch its back.
