The Hippo and The Creator
For many years, when earth was young, mother creator introduced different animals to nature to help with the completion of the creation called earth. While everything was created perfect it took time before certain things could be introduced to earth and help nature to grow and evolve.
The first Animal that was task with the job of opening up the underground water was the warthog. After many years she retired the warthog and created the Rhino. For years to come the Rhino was the one to dig around in the ground with its horn to open the fresh water where it lay hidden and preserved under the earthâ€s crust.
Then Mother Nature brought forward the Hippo. The Hippo was a problem child from the word go. Always laying up in the shade hiding away from the sun, Feasting till past midnight and wondering all over doing very little digging, She spoke harsh words to the Hippo but he did not change its ways
One day Hippo was lying under the shade of a large shady old tree, after a long night out feeding and grazing over the hills and trough the flood plains not digging open one fountain, when mother nature wanted to know why hippo is not working She was shocked with the sudden revolt.
Hippo was not happy with the task at hand. He claimed that mother nature did not think it trough when she created him with his digging tusks inside his mouth. He was created a grazer and that the mud and sand tasted awful when he had to do the digging with his mouth wide open.
Mother Nature spoke in a thundering voice with him. Telling him that Rhino was doing this work for a long time and that she created the Hippo to continue where Rhino has left off. Hippo got such a fright that he run into the water, only to come out at night to forage over vast distances and before Mother Nature wakes up at sunrise he runs into the closest water hole hiding under the water for the whole day.
With only his nose and eyelids sticking out of the water thinking mother nature cannot see him The creator only chuckles when she looks down upon her rebel. Imvubu the Zulu name for the Rebellious one.
